The find a home feature is a great tool. That being said, knowing exactly how to use it to it's fullest will save you lots of frustration and get you to your end-goal much more quickly.

Choosing a location

When selecting your location, be sure to select the proper criteria- zip code, subdivision, city, street address, MLS #, etc.

Setting the Search Criteria

Then be sure to fill in some basic search criteria to limit the number of homes displayed. You can choose from the type of home, whether there is a pool, lot size, etc. Otherwise it can be somewhat overwhelming. It may take some browsing to narrow where and what you are seeking. My Neighborhood & Area Zip Code Guide can help narrow things down when you are ready to narrow down the search results you want to see.

As a rule of thumb, it's always better to start your search more broadly. You can always narrow things down later, as your needs are more refined. If you eliminate too much, you may not see as many results. If you know what you want and aren't willing to compromise, good for you! You may have to be patient, but eventually the right home will come up.

Viewing the Search Results with a Split Screen

When your search results are displayed, depending on the size of your screen and/or screen resolution, you may want to adjust a few of the display options to see the detailed listing info, photos and the information available for each home.

To see only the listing detail, click on the left arrow highlighted by the red circle.

You can click the same arrow to view the list of results with a split screen again.

This info should be enough to make you dangerous.

Saving Your Search

If you would like to save your search, you can do so in a few ways. First you can click the "Save this Search" button above the search criteria or Listing Display list on the left side of the page. You can also click on the "Log In" image at the top right of the search frame.

Accessing your Saved Search

Once you've saved your search, you can access it as frequently as you will need it from the bottom right column of my home page.   You can also access your search directly from your mobile phone with this link: http://mymobile.flexmls.com/camilleswanson
